A Qualitative Research Capacity Building Training for Doctoral Students was organized by ACIPH in collaboration with JSI

The main purpose of the training was to build trainees knowledge and advance their ability to apply qualitative research methods in public health inquiry. The capacity building effort will provide trainees’ the opportunity to acquire theoretical and practical qualitative research skills through a structured customized course. The training covered the theoretical underpinning and the practical application of qualitative research.  The training was designed to be delivered in two phases, The first phase was from May 17-21, 2021 which covered the theoretical and methodological issues. In the second phase, trainees will be mentored to develop qualitative research protocol and implement in the field, transcribe, translate and code qualitative data using qualitative data analysis software.
This training was conducted at ACIPH Hall in Addis Ababa and participants came from Addis Ababa University, Gondar University, Jimma University, Hawassa University and ACIPH.
