Ashetu is a chief Public Health Professional who received his BSc and MSc in Public Health from Hawassa University (2011) and Addis Continental Institute of Public Health (2018) respectively. He has worked in Oromia region, Metehara Health Center and health office in diverse roles. Ashetu is currently Malaria Surveillance Officer at SMMES project of Addis Continental Institute of Public Health. As malaria surveillance officer, he provides technical support to zones, woredas and PHCUs in strengthening malaria surveillance system and data quality. He is also involved in providing capacity building activities related to Malaria M&E and Data Quality. He has received different short-term trainings like Ethiopian Health Care Challenges, Oncologic Focused Health Care Challenges, Malaria Surveillance, Data Quality and Analysis, M&E of Malaria and Geographic Information System (GIS); to mention a few. Ashetu’s research interest include communicable diseases, health information system, maternal & child health and nutrition. Ashetu is also involved in academic activities at Addis Continental Institute of public Health with a Lecturer rank.
